That QR code sitting on the restaurant table? It probably looks like a simple link to a menu. But behind the best ones is a full platform — handling 16 languages, custom branding, real-time updates, and integrated payments. And the restaurant owner set it up in under ten minutes.
We built TechnoMenu to solve a problem that every restaurant owner understands: menus are expensive to print, painful to update, and impossible to translate properly.
01The problem with paper menus
Every time a restaurant changes a price, adds a seasonal dish, or runs out of an ingredient, the paper menu is wrong. Reprinting costs money. Multilingual menus cost more. Tourist-heavy areas need menus in five or six languages, and most restaurants settle for bad translations or just don't bother.
PDF menus were an improvement, but barely. They're hard to read on phones, impossible to update in real time, and they all look the same — a wall of text that does nothing to showcase the food.
02What we built
TechnoMenu is a web platform where restaurant owners create beautiful, interactive digital menus through a guided three-step wizard. Step one: enter your restaurant details, upload a logo, choose a colour theme. Step two: build your menu structure — categories, subcategories, items with photos, descriptions, and prices. Step three: your unique QR code is generated and ready to print.
The menus look good on any phone. They load fast. They're easy to navigate with sticky category headers and smooth scrolling. And they can be updated in real time — change a price, add a dish, remove a sold-out item, and every table in the restaurant sees the update instantly.
0316 languages, one menu
This was one of the most interesting challenges. TechnoMenu supports 16 languages out of the box, including English, Serbian (both Latin and Cyrillic), Spanish, German, French, Italian, Russian, Turkish, Albanian, and Chinese in both Simplified and Traditional variants.
The platform detects the customer's phone language and serves the menu accordingly. A tourist from Berlin and a local regular can scan the same QR code and each see the menu in their own language. The restaurant owner only maintains one menu — the translations are handled by the platform.
Branded QR menus
Custom colours, logos, and themes — menus that match the restaurant's identity.
16 languages
Auto-detected from the customer's phone. One menu, every language, zero effort.
Real-time updates
Change a price at 9am, every table sees the new menu by 9:01.
Stripe subscriptions
Tiered pricing from free to premium, with analytics, ordering, and custom QR codes.
More than a menu
TechnoMenu is more than a menu viewer. It's a SaaS platform with tiered pricing powered by Stripe. The free tier gets a restaurant up and running with a basic digital menu. Paid tiers unlock features like ordering capabilities, custom QR codes with the restaurant's logo embedded, premium colour themes, and advanced analytics.
There's a full authentication system, subscription management, and an admin dashboard where restaurant owners track how their menus are being used — which items get the most views, when peak scanning times are, and how customers navigate through the menu.
Dark mode support, responsive design, and fast load times were non-negotiable. When someone is hungry and scanning a QR code, they're not patient with slow pages or hard-to-read text.
05Why it works
The restaurants that use TechnoMenu don't think about the technology. They think about the fact that they updated their lunch special at 9am and every table had the new menu by 9:01. They think about the fact that international tourists can read their menu without asking for help. They think about the fact that they haven't reprinted a menu in months.
That's what good software does. It disappears into the workflow.
